My Books

South Bay from EsplanadeAll my books are set in the fictional North Yorkshire seaside town of Whitsborough Bay, inspired by my hometown of Scarborough and some of the other wonderful coastal resorts locally like Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay.

I write all of my books to read as standalone stories but I love my characters and some do make appearances in other books. Regular readers will recognise them but anyone new to the book won’t be confused by their appearance.

That said, I would recommend reading the first books I wrote in order as they were designed as a series. It starts with a prequel, Raving About Rhys, which is a short novella designed to be an introduction to the trilogy (Searching for Steven, Getting Over Gary and Dreaming About Daran). A few years later, I wrote a longer follow-up to the novella: Callie’s Christmas Wish. I’d therefore recommend reading those five in the order they appear below.

3. Beach HutsBear With Me is completely standalone although Karen, one of the characters in The Secret to Happiness is protagonist Jemma’s best friend and therefore it’s probably logical to read those two in that order although they are not a series as such.

My other three Christmas releases – Charlee and the Chocolate Shop, Christmas at Carly’s Cupcakes and Christmas at The Chocolate Pot Cafe are all standalone but I’d probably suggest reading Christmas at Carly’s Cupcakes before Christmas at The Chocolate Pot Cafe because the protagonists in each are best friends and, chronologically, that’s how they’re set.

If you would like to read everything completely in order, this is the order to follow but I emphasise that all of them can be read as standalone books. I even know of readers and bloggers who’ve read the series out of order and loved it, but I personally wouldn’t recommend that.

Happy reading!
